The history of electrical service is actually quite interesting if you ask me so I was thrilled when I came upon this little article on newspapers.com.
This appeared in the Pittsburgh Press on Saturday, December 20, 1924 on page 171. Electrical service was already being installed in communities in the North Hills and Wexford wanted to be next but they didn’t want to pay the electrical company to install the lines.
On September 19, 1926 (Pittsburgh Press pg. 71) Wexford residents still did not have electrical service.
May 29, 1930, the Pittsburgh Press announced a merger of three electric companies, one was Harmony Electric Co. The new electric company was Pennsylvania Electric Co. Other than those three articles, I couldn’t find more about electrical service in Wexford.
